I love movies so much. There are so many great romantic comedies it’s ridiculous. But even those can’t tell you what to actually expect from a real relationship. They don’t actually walk you through the steps of an argument or the annoyances or what the pain really feels like when someone goes south. They don’t tell you about the butterflies and the constant effort it takes to make a relationship work. But nothing ever prepares us for the greatest love of all time, the one that matters above every other one.
Jesus is the greatest human ever. Like ever. He did some really cool miracles back in His time and He even smart mouthed some people who were too big for their britches. It’s ok, it’s cool, they just should’ve known what they were getting in to. One thing that’s really been laid on my heart lately, especially since returning from New Mexico about a month ago, is the immense love that Jesus has for His people.
There’s a song by Hillsong Young & Free called “Real Love” and it has a line that I really think is awesome:
So this has been on my heart to tell you, whoever is reading this, that this love is greater than anything you’ve ever known. More than any guy or girl could tell you or show you. If you’re searching for love or you have found the love of your life, if you’re searching for friendships or acceptance, THIS is real. This love is true through and through. Anyone can show you how much they love you, I think that’s somewhat of a demonstration to show you only a sliver of a fraction of a percent of how much Jesus passionately loves you. He’s passionately fights for YOU. He wants YOU. He’s using you! You’re never too far gone. He’s always waiting for you.
Verse: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
